SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHER APPLICATIONS
STOP the Overpopulation of Pets, Inc. has helped pay to spay 5,000 dogs and cats in Alaska from 2001 to 2019.
We are no longer issuing new spay/neuter vouchers.
Now there are several programs in Alaska to help with spaying and neutering costs. If you need help, please contact your local animal control or humane society to see what is offered in your area. If you don’t need financial help, please consider getting your pet spayed/neutered to help continue the numbers of healthy, adoptable pets euthanized just because there are not enough homes for them.
We thank you for doing the right thing with your pets. If you are a STOP supporter, we also want to thank you for helping us achieve our mission over these past 18 years!
Congratulations for making the right decision on spaying and neutering your pets! You will help save the lives of many pets from being killed at Alaska’s animal controls through your ethical decision. (We do have limited funds, so we ask that those in need use our vouchers. We contribute from $20 to $40 toward your pet’s spay-neuter, paid only to veterinarians included in our program (make sure they accept our vouchers; see list below). Male cat: $20. Male dog and female cat: $30. Female dog: $40. Vouchers can only be used at a participating veterinarian.
Note: To allow more pets to be spayed and neutered, our vouchers are not to be used in Anchorage (as Friends of Pets & the Alaska SPCA have their own programs) or with any other program, such as the SPCA Spay Clinic (Anchorage) and Friends of Pets (Anchorage). Contact those organizations directly to use their programs instead.
STOP contributes a voucher for $20 to $40 per pet toward spaying and neutering if your vet accepts our voucher (check our list first and always ask when calling to make the appointment). However, no vets in Anchorage accept our vouchers. There is a Friends of Pets $20 voucher program and the Alaska SPCA spay clinic there.
Please remember that spaying and neutering can cost up to several hundred dollars in Alaska. It is the right thing to do, and STOP recommends it as responsible, caring pet ownership, but please check with your vet for costs before applying for our voucher to save our volunteers time in filling them out. Thank you.
